you have to get to the desert and ascend in prophercies
get to senji's corner in factions and I don't know for Nightfall (think its get to sanctuary) After these you can swap secondary prof in any outpost just by going to skills menu |

Choosing a second proffession cannot be missed so just follow the main quest(s). For first proffession read the stickys in the profession forums to se which gamestyle suits you. |

Ok, I tried reading all those frums for the professions, really didn't help much, too confusing, n' a guy liek me that knows C++ shouldn't get confused..lol..
Could some one put like a brief message of what kinda gamestyle each profession(1st profession) is like? |

LilMain, best thing to do is probably to read thru the manual, it has a list and description of all the professions.
What profession did you pick, and what sort of thing were you hoping to do? For example do you like to kill stuff close up with big swords? From a distance, using spells or bow and arrow? Prefer to be a "support" character helping others to stay alive? As far as a second profession you can experiment with different things as you are not locked into a secondary permanently. Check out the forum for the profession you chose as a Primary, there will be some examples of good builds there. |

Do you mean your attributes?
You can change them at any outpost with no penalty, no real way to screw up your build. |

It's tough to give a concrete answer on the role of every class. For example, elementalists were technically meant to be very squishy, hang in the back lines and do massive damage. But for a long time tanking elementalists that did barely any damage were popular.
Basically though, they do what the description in game says. Warriors take hits, elementalists give hits, rangers do ranged damage and have dozens of support roles, mesmers are usually there to screw with the enemies strategy, monks heal and protect, necromancers spread curses and raise minions, Paragons at this point have taken supportive roles with motivation, and dervish's have been seen doing all kinds of things.
